BAREFOOT FISHING ANGLING CLUB

“Where Passion Meets the Water.”

“Fish with Passion. Walk with Purpose”

INTRODUCING
THE BAREFOOT FISHING ANGLING CLUB

The Barefoot Fishing Angling Club is more than a fishing club—it is a brotherhood of anglers who share a passion for the outdoors, a respect for nature, and a commitment to community. Built on the philosophy that fishing is not only a sport but a way of life, the club brings together individuals who value simplicity, camaraderie, and the timeless joy of casting a line.

The term “Barefoot Fishing” reflects the spirit and ethos of the club: a return to the basics. It symbolizes humility, authenticity, and a deep connection with nature. Whether standing on the shoreline, wading in the water, or sitting quietly beside a lake at sunrise, Barefoot Fishing reminds anglers that the true reward of fishing is not only the catch, but the experience itself.

The Barefoot Fishing Angling Club exists to create a community where anglers can learn, grow, and share knowledge. Through regular fishing outings, friendly competitions, training sessions, and social gatherings, members develop their skills while building lasting friendships. The club encourages anglers of all experience levels—from beginners learning their first cast to seasoned fishermen refining advanced techniques.

A key focus of the club is mentorship and development. Experienced anglers are encouraged to guide newcomers, passing on practical knowledge about equipment, techniques, species identification, and responsible fishing practices. This culture of sharing ensures that the passion for angling continues to grow from one generation to the next.

The club also promotes responsible and sustainable fishing practices. Members are encouraged to respect the environment, protect aquatic ecosystems, and practice ethical angling that ensures the preservation of fish populations for future generations.

Beyond fishing itself, the Barefoot Fishing Angling Club serves as a platform for fellowship and community impact. Events such as social fishing days, competitions, and the popular “Barefoot Brotherhood Cast-Off” create opportunities for people to connect, relax, and celebrate the outdoors together.

As part of the broader vision connected to the BFFEC initiatives, the Barefoot Fishing Angling Club also supports the development of the Fishing Academy, helping to build a culture of training, skill development, and environmental awareness. Through this connection, the club becomes not only a place for recreation but also a catalyst for education, mentorship, and community upliftment.

The Barefoot Fishing Angling Club is also actively involved in the hosting and presentation of the annual Bokamosa Youth Environmental Event in Mamelodi.  The environmental service involves bringing about solutions to environmental problems inclusive but not limited to

  • Polution,
  • Water Shortage and Poluting of Water Resources,
  • The Loss of trees and Green spaces

At its heart, the Barefoot Fishing Angling Club stands for passion, brotherhood, and purpose—where every cast tells a story, every catch becomes a memory, and every member becomes part of something bigger than themselves.

We stand together as anglers, bound by a shared love for the water and the quiet places where nature speaks.
We fish not only for the catch, but for the experience, the fellowship, and the lessons found along the shoreline.

We honor the waters we fish, respecting the life within them and protecting them for those who will come after us.
We walk simply, fish honestly, and carry the spirit of the outdoors with humility and gratitude.

We commit ourselves to brotherhood—encouraging one another, sharing knowledge freely, and welcoming every angler who desires to learn and grow.

We fish with passion.
We stand with purpose.
We walk barefoot in the spirit of true angling.

This is the way of the Barefoot Fishing Angling Club.
